Famagusta Cıty Walls
Beginning with the arrival of the Lusignans in 1192, followed by many other Christian refugees from the lost territories in the Holy Land some one hundred years later, Famagusta rose from an unsignificant town to one the richest cities of Christendom. The city walls were erected for its protection, reshaped and reinforced by Famagusta's Venetian masters in the 15th Century, to meet the demands of new warfare technology.

Famagusta's impressive sturdy walls are largely preserved and allow for great views, from street level as well as from atop their silent heights.
