The origns of Panagia Kankaria church date back to the 5th Century). Being rebuilt and altered many times after destruction by human and natural forces, it is abandoned and all but empty today. Its precious artworks were destroyed, stolen and finally handed to the Republic of Cyprus. Panagia Kankaria is located in Boltasli on the Karpaz pensinsula.
