Kyrenia Harbour
Kyrenias small harbour received its current shape towards the end of the 15th century, when the Venetians rebuilt and fortified it. As with other small ports along Cyprus' northern coast, for many years its main export were carobs. The harbour's trade function significantly diminished since the 1880s.^

Nowadays mainly yachts are mooring at the quais of Kyrenia harbour, and instead of warehouses a number of Cafés and Restaurants oocupy the two- and three-storey buildings lining its landsinde in semicircle. In the evenings, Kyrenia harbour is a favorite spot for locals and visitors enjoying the sea breeze and the charming atmosphere beneath Kyrenia Castle.
